Our BA (bright annealed) duplex 2507 sheets offer extreme pitting resistance (PREN >40) and smooth surface finish for high-temperature brine evaporators.
Desalination evaporators using superaustenitic grades still suffer from crevice corrosion under scale deposits and high chloride levels.
Duplex 2507 provides PREN >40, higher thermal conductivity, and BA surface that reduces scale adhesion, dramatically extending tube sheet life.

Desalination evaporator tube sheets, vapor ducts, and brine heaters.
High chromium (25%), molybdenum (4%), and nitrogen form an ultra-stable passive layer. BA finish lowers surface roughness, reducing nucleate boiling sites for scale.
Use 2507 BA for flash chambers. For less critical stages, 2205 is acceptable. Avoid 2507 above 600°F in acidic brines.
