Product Overview

254 SMO is a state-of-the-art super austenitic stainless steel containing 6% molybdenum, delivering extraordinary corrosion resistance that bridges the performance gap between standard 300-series stainless steels and high-nickel alloys. With a PREN ≥ 43, 254 SMO provides robust resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and chloride stress corrosion cracking (SCC) in the most demanding marine, chemical, and offshore environments. Its significantly higher strength compared to 316L allows for lighter designs with excellent lifecycle economics.
