Product Description
Our Duplex 2205 Stainless Steel Sheet combines the best properties of austenitic and ferritic stainless steels, delivering twice the yield strength of 316L with outstanding chloride stress corrosion cracking resistance. At 5.0mm thickness, these sheets are engineered for the most demanding offshore oil platform, desalination, and chemical processing applications where standard grades fail prematurely.
- Double Yield Strength: Minimum 450 MPa yield strength vs 170 MPa for 316L, enabling thinner wall designs and significant weight savings
- Outstanding Chloride SCC Resistance: PREN ≥35 provides exceptional resistance to stress corrosion cracking in chloride-rich environments
- Superior Pitting Resistance: High chromium (22%), molybdenum (3%), and nitrogen content creates a highly stable passive layer
- Good Weldability: Weldable with standard procedures using duplex-specific filler metals for matching corrosion performance
