Automotive body aluminum sheet is at the center of the lightweighting strategy adopted by car makers around the world, because cutting body weight is the most direct way to reduce fuel consumption and extend the range of electric vehicles. Our 5182, 5754 and 6016 alloys cover the three jobs an auto body sheet must perform: 5182 delivers the high formability needed for complex inner panels, 5754 provides stable strength for structural and floor panels, and 6016 is a heat treatable outer skin alloy that gains strength during the paint baking process. Coils are rolled with precise surface control and delivered with mill oil protection so press shops receive material with consistent tribology from the first blank to the last.
Every batch of automotive aluminum sheet is produced under a quality system aligned with automotive expectations, including tensile testing in both rolling directions, roughness measurement of the surface and careful flatness leveling before delivery. The sheet is supplied in standard widths for car body lines and can be cut to blank size to feed your press directly. Compared with steel of equal stiffness, aluminum body sheet reduces panel weight by roughly forty to fifty percent, which lowers the center of gravity of the vehicle and improves handling. Recyclability is another decisive advantage: aluminum retains its value through the scrap cycle, supporting the circular economy targets that regulators now set for the industry.
